چکیده
Plants produce and emit a large variety of volatiles that have multiple defense-related functions in response to abiotic or biotic stresses. In comparison with studies on plant volatile–herbivore interactions, little research has been carried out volatile–microbe interactions. the present paper, tea volatile–Colletotrichum camelliae interactions were studied. The results emitted following infection C. “Baiye No. 1” showed healthy plants contained 68 kinds volatiles, while infected 76 volatiles. Five namely, geraniol, linalool, methyl salicylate, (E)-3-hexen-1-ol, α-farnesene, found relatively content variation plants, increments 7.903%, −2.247%, 2.770%, −6.728%, 3.848%, respectively. fungicidal activity five against geraniol had best activity, MIC MBC values 0.5 1 mg·mL−1, Thus, was selected for subsequent studies. effects mycelia cell structures investigated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) transmission microscope (TEM). significantly disrupted, damaged. related enzymes assessed. cellulase increased, malondialdehyde defense inhibited, thereby inhibiting growth pathogens. This study provides first evidence is function volatile stress. It also valuable information enriches chemical ecology diseases field defensive substances microbe-induced

Induced Resistance by a Long-Chain Bacterial Volatile: Elicitation of Plant Systemic Defense by a C13 Volatile Produced by Paenibacillus polymyxa
BACKGROUND Some strains of plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) elicit induced systemic resistance (ISR) by emission of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) including short chain alcohols, acetoin, and 2,3-butanediol. The objective of this study was to evaluate whether species-specific VOCs from PGPR strain Paenibacillus polymyxa E681 can promote growth and induce resistance in Arabidopsis....

Plants are very delicate have no opportunity other than to adapt their growth and changing with environment and need to coordinate their growth and physiology responses. Plants present in an environment in ancient time characterized by the presence of various types of stresses both biotic and abiotic. Phytohormones play important role in plant growth, development and response to stresses. Plant...

The moss Physcomitrella patens is a suitable model plant to analyze the activation of defense mechanisms after pathogen assault. In this study, we show that Colletotrichum gloeosporioides isolated from symptomatic citrus fruit infects P. patens and cause disease symptoms evidenced by browning and maceration of tissues. After C. gloeosporioides infection, P. patens reinforces the cell wall by th...
متن کاملApplication of Volatile Antifungal Plant Essential Oils for Controlling Pepper Fruit Anthracnose by Colletotrichum gloeosporioides
Anthracnose caused by Colletotrichum gloeosporioides has been destructive during pepper fruit production in outdoor fields in Korea. In vitro antifungal activities of 15 different plant essential oils or its components were evaluated during conidial germination and mycelial growth of C. gloeosporioides. In vitro conidial germination was most drastically inhibited by vapour treatments with carva...
متن کاملTranscriptome Analysis of an Anthracnose-Resistant Tea Plant Cultivar Reveals Genes Associated with Resistance to Colletotrichum camelliae.
Tea plant breeding is a topic of great economic importance. However, disease remains a major cause of yield and quality losses. In this study, an anthracnose-resistant cultivar, ZC108, was developed. An infection assay revealed different responses to Colletotrichum sp. infection between ZC108 and its parent cultivar LJ43. ZC108 had greater resistance than LJ43 to Colletotrichum camelliae. Addit...
